Honda Customer Mobility Assistance Program

To better serve the needs of our customers who have special mobility needs, the staff at your Honda Pittsburgh dealer proudly offers the Honda Customer Mobility Assistance Program. This program provides drivers and passengers with physical disabilities with a reimbursement of up to $1,000 to every eligible and original retail customer. This reimbursement can help cover the expense of buying and installing qualifying adaptive vehicle equipment on an eligible purchased or leased Honda model.* At Moon Township Honda, we are dedicated to accommodating the unique driving requirements of everyone who walks through our doors. What Is Involved With The Honda Customer Mobility Assistance Program


There are several requirements for taking advantage of the Honda Customer Mobility Assistance Program. They are: 

 

General:

  • The original owner of the Honda model is the only one eligible for reimbursement.

  • All modifications must be completed for the original owner or their immediate family.

  • The program only applies to new Honda models that are bought or leased in the U.S. from your Honda Pittsburgh dealer.

  • Only one reimbursement request is allowed per Honda model.

  • All lease-vehicle modifications may be subject to written lesser approval. You are responsible for determining and satisfying the lease-contract requirements.

  • The written reimbursement request must be received within six (6) months of the adaptive equipment installation.


Adaptations, Modifications, Or Equipment Installation:

  • Qualifying adaptive equipment or conversion is defined as: "alterations or adaptive-equipment installation that provides to the disabled user convenient access to the vehicle and/or the ability to drive the vehicle." Be sure to ask the professionals at your Honda dealer for more information about this.

  • The adaptive equipment installation must have taken place within the time and mileage limits of your New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

  • Alterations or adaptive vehicle equipment installation requires a prescription of medical documents to be considered for reimbursement.

  • All reimbursement requests (invoices) will be compared against the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website to verify that the repair business (individual, partnership, or corporation) is registered with NHTSA and that the modifications are on the list for NHTSA exemptions.

  • Once all conditions are met, Honda will provide up to a $1,000 cash reimbursement. Honda will be the secondary coverage in the case of two or more reimbursement sources.**


Exceptions:

  • Wheelchair or scooter hoists or ramps do not need a prescription, medical documentation, or NHTSA exemption verification and NHTSA business registration for reimbursement consideration.

  • Modifications that DO NOT make inoperative any part of a device or element of design that has been installed on a Honda model in compliance with a Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard will not require NHTSA exemption verification and NHTSA business registration for reimbursement consideration.

  • Reimbursement given by another source, like your medical insurance, will be subtracted from the customer's original total expense.
